Ruth Easterling, Director of Family Governance and Education Services for the Grupp Organization LLC, will explore family governance and education, from designing strategies, to interpreting underlying dynamics, to taking critical steps so that families can flourish.  The session will review current trends in both family governance and education, explain the essential factors of a holistic governance structure, and provide insight on the role of advisors in supporting the family’s evolution.

  • Practical steps towards opening conversations with clients and providing them actionable guidance.

About our speaker:

Ruth advises and collaborates with clients to develop a holistic perspective on the current and future needs of the family, including interpersonal dynamics, governance, succession, wealth identity, and education. Her passion is to help families and individuals identify and embrace opportunities and risks so that they can live meaningful, fulfilled lives across generations.  Through query and curiosity, she safely opens up perspectives and individual insights for clients to effectively navigate their future. 

Previously for twenty years Ruth was a contributor and leader at the Family Office Exchange (FOX).   In her role as Managing Director, she advised and coached hundreds of family office executives, family members, and professional advisors in the ultra-high net worth space.

In addition to developing transformative connections in client and team relationships, she has created innovative educational programming, designed and implemented internal service strategies and processes, facilitated family and member meetings and led the FOX Private Trust Company Network.

Prior to joining FOX, Ruth worked with the professional services firm Smith, Bucklin & Associates, which provides association management and consulting services to more than 180 associations.  She served as executive director to professional associations ranging in size from 300 to 4,000 members. In this role she led strategic and organizational re-alignment to international and national organizations.  Ruth holds a B.A. in Management and Leadership from Judson College. Her interests are yoga, hiking and storytelling.
